DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has enhanced its flight offerings to Italy to meet the rising demand for international travel. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is increasing its operations in Italy by adding more flights to key commercial hubs. Starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo and will also boost its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expanded schedule broadens flydubai’s footprint in Italy, which also includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and seasonal summer services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, operating until the end of August. Additionally, due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy, flydubai announced operational adjustments. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, the airline will reroute its daily Dubai International Airport flights to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport. Regular flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connectivity at Dubai Hub

The routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples operate under the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates, facilitating integrated travel plans, unified ticketing, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage services across both airlines. This collaboration leverages Dubai’s strategic central hub, offering travelers from Italian airports streamlined access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct routes to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

The expansion reflects wider trends in commercial aviation within the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers have shown consistent post-pandemic growth. The increase in flight frequencies supports heightened bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the UAE and Italy. The twice-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo cater to business travelers, while daily services to southern Italy address seasonal travel demand to cultural landmarks along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, commented that Naples and Milan are now vital gateways in the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that maintaining reliable regional access remains a priority, alongside a long-term commitment to developing connectivity to underserved markets. He added that market data indicates flydubai’s strategic frequency increases in Italy are designed to accommodate the rising passenger flows between the United Arab Emirates and Italy, especially as winter travel demand grows.

Key Airports in the Region Facilitate Direct Passenger Access

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, highlighted that expanding direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the Italian market’s significance. Efendi noted that nonstop connections allow passengers to leverage the combined reach of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to key global destinations via Dubai. The airline’s teams are prepared for the increased flight schedule, ensuring operational reliability for both passenger and cargo services.

These operational upgrades are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and network development. As the airline continues acquiring modern narrow-body aircraft, it plans further frequency enhancements on high-demand European routes. The additional Italian flights strengthen Dubai’s role as an international transit hub, enabling efficient movement of passengers and freight across Europe, the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
